Helpful Gifts from the Heart was created to help families dealing with a diagnosis of pediatric cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among U.S. children between infancy and age 15.
Our primary mission is to provide “practical” gifts to help these families. Often, there is a loss of income associated with the illness. However, the expenses of an extended hospital stay are not limited to a loss of income and the sometimes astronomical costs of health insurance co-pays. There are children that are in the hospital for weeks or even months at a time.
Examples of some of the practical gifts we have given:

- Meals for families at C.H.O.P
- McDonalds gift cards (for the McDonalds at C.H.O.P.)
